In this workshop, participants will work together to define gender, power, and control and how this may impact the dynamics here at MIT. We will talk openly about our experiences on campus and how we can collectively work together to shift the paradigm through education and community organizing.

About the Speaker: AMANDA HANKINS
Amanda Hankins is the new Education and Prevention Specialist for MIT’s Violence Prevention and Response program. Her background is in gender-based violence prevention and advocacy as well as student leadership development. She is passionate about marrying the concept of leadership and advocacy. She has a Masters in Social Work where she focused on sexual health, motivational interviewing, and trauma. She has worked in many capacities at both Harvard Medical School and the University of Central Florida. She is thrilled to join the MIT community as a graduate student specialist.
